Itchy Swollen Ankles

Swollen ankles are a pretty common symptom of heart failure, and usually helped with diuretics, but does anyone else experience the sheer, almost orgasmic pleasure from gently scratching them with your finger nails?

I stress gently, because any harder might break the skin and create a whole world of trouble in consequence.

I get this every night after about a hour in bed. Maybe getting too warm?

Or is it only me?

Made me lol, if you like a cover at night so don’t want to go without, try sticking just your feet out just to see if makes a difference? Remember to roll your pyjamas legs up😊 hope you find a solution, someone with more sensible advice or similar experience hopefully will be along soon.

Thank you and Mrs Suzuki, I think you both have hit the nail on the head. It certainly does seem to be heat-related. Might even try the damp flannel too.

Do you think it could be prickly heat? Is it worse since it has been very hot?

As Hidden says, maybe stick your feet out of bed, I have to do that as they get very hot and itchy, I often have to put a cold flannel on the soles of my feet to try and cool them!

🤣. Oh the joys of menopause.Lily

Thanks Beta, those are a new one on me, I'll check them out.
