NSAIDs

Hi everyone, hope you are having a good day. After my angioplasty I was put on Clopidogrel and I have read that you cannot take NSAIDs with them as it increases bleeding risks. I suffer with condrochronitis(inflammation of the chest wall) and I am having a flare up. This flare up has been going on for 3 weeks and nothing else touches the pain other than Naproxen. I have messaged my GP to ask if I can take some for a few days (that's usually enough time). Has anyone else been told its OK? Many thanks

I was told not to take NSAIDs with my BP medication as it can cause an increase in BP. GP suggested Co-codamol for back pain.

My only thought is that you should discuss this with your pharmacist who can advise on drug compatibility.

Pharmacist is probably your best bet for advice. Reading the leaflet, as I always do, said that one NSAID I was prescribed shouldn't be used with most of the other things I was on and conditions I have.

I know where you’re coming from. I’ve been told NSAIDS are a nono on the blood thinners and anti platelets. I’ve got degenerative arthritis and scoliosis in my spine and when it’s bad I really miss brufen 😂😂. I use magnesium body spray which helps a little.
