Thank you for that post.

There are a few charities that help nurses, the one I support is the Edith Cavell Trust. Information about their wonderful work is available here,

Why so few comments? Sometimes this forum bemuses me!

I for one did not comment because this is the first time it has appeared on my feed. The day after, and on Friday 13th!

But I did, yesterday, put a big graphic about it on my Facebook page along with a comment about my eternal gratitude to them as on more than one occasion over the last couple of years these wonderful people have more than once helped save my life. I also added the comment that we, as a nation should really show our gratitude by giving them a proper pay rise. But that is possibly a bit too political to post here.

That post gained likes from friends around the world

Like rizal, I've only just opened the email with this post on it. Been to Kings College London, this morning with my 93yo mum, and I can confirm the nurses are brilliant.

Thank you for the post have only seen it today, but wanted to add my voice to all the thanks that all these wonderful people deserve. They helped me survive 6 years ago, and now they are taking such good care of my husband. These are angels here on earth.

Best wishes

99.9% are fantastic but in my amputation journey two let the side down badly. The first was a part-time male charge nurse who removed Gabapentin from my medication chart as in his view phantom pain is in the mind and drugs are unnecessary. He's lucky I had only one leg or he would have had to run faster than Usain Bolt. The second I nicknamed Nurse Rachet! Despite an antibiotic drip being scheduled to be removed around midday the next day, being patent and with no signs of irritation or infection she decided it should be moved. It took her multiple attempts to get a new cannula in and my my arm ended up battered, bruised and bloody. She ended up in front of matron and had to revise the NICE guidelines. She never came near me again!

Saying that the rest have been fantastic! Oh and one has to mention the HCAs some of whom really go above and beyond! 💐 to you all!
