Day of my CPET appointment is finally here

The day of my long awaited CPET test is finally here , I need this test doing to see if or what is causing my symptoms whenever I’m rushing around, I’m a bit apprehensive now but relieved I’ll know either way whether there is a cardiac or respiratory cause , hopefully then I’ll soon get a follow up appointment with cardiology to see if I can safely start heart rehab as my cardiologist mentioned he thinks I need it (due to me having pericarditis in 2020) )after I’d had this test what the situation is so I can move on and hopefully be allowed to go swimming again without any problems. I also have an appointment with my respiratory consultant in august as he requested this test too .

Wishing you the very best of luck! I would say try & relax & stay calm but I never can do either during these tests 🤣 , hope you can get some answers xx

Lots and lots of good luck, hope you get some progress and get to see cardiologist ASAP after.

Thank you , yes I’ve had the test done , one of the guys doing the breathing test before going on the treadmill said my airways were slightly narrower, I managed 10 minutes before I suddenly went shaky and dizzy . Just the wait now until my appointment in august to see what the consultant says .

So glad you have had the test you did well to last 10 minutes I'm lucky if I can last 5. Yeah the breathing test is hard on your lungs makes you feel terrible before you even start the test on the treadmill or bike 😅😭. Sorry to hear it made you feel shaky and dizzy 💔. Yeah will be interesting to know what they say, August is only a few months away but when your waiting for results it can feel like a lifetime to wait x you must be exhausted take care and sleep well 😘

Hi, Westie2012,

I’m sorry that I missed your post earlier when you first posted.

I hope that all went well in your testing and that you can soon get a diagnosis and treatment. I often think that the waiting for results is harder than the actual procedure itself. 😊

Hopefully, you won’t have to wait too long. I wish you the best in outcomes.

Adding that I just saw the update about lasting the 10 minutes—good job that! I will be waiting to learn what your consultant has to say. Hopefully, you will soon have some answers!

Take care until then! 🙏
