Hello I don't think they put you to the bottom of the waiting list if you have to cancel due to Illness !!! I note on my appointment it says if you are feeling unwell phone before you attend. I think Cath Labs and the Ward are only staffed on a day basis.

Have you looked on the Hospital web site to see what it says about attending appointments ??

Are you sure it's not Covid? It's extremely contagious and there still is a lot about in the wider community Many who think it's 'just a cold' find they have Covid since the symptoms can be similar. Not sure how you check unless you have a spare LFT kit.

Have you had a covid test? So many people think they just have a cold and don't bother testing and end up spreading it.

Guess that's a no 🤦‍♂️

Dear Passes

First how kind you are to think of others over your procedure due to a developing cold that you have.

The hospital will be great full for you doing this and you will not be put to the bottom of any list because of this.

They may ask you to take a test { you know the one } and if possible can you do this today and at lest on the phone you can tell them if you are showing positive or not?

The angioplasty is not a simple procedure { it just appears that way } and as sedation is used, it may make the process a little harder for you with your breathing etc.

The Labs start early in the morning so if you live not to far, how about phoning them from a car in the car park { you can’t drive afterwards } if they say you can go ahead, well your there, if not someone can take you home to get better.

Take care.

Dear blue 1958Yes not far from hospital I think I will pack and prepare to go in and as you say ring early and go by what they suggest thank you for you reply

Colds, flu, covid and other virus infections are contagious. If you are infected you likely pass it on to others who are near. If you have a heavy cold you should stay away out of consideration to the hospital staff, who, if they get what you have, may have to stay off work and that doesn't help the NHS catch up the backlog.

Do test for Covid, it’s the first thing they will ask. Apparently cold and Covid symptoms are v similar! Easily confused. Good luck.
