AVR - 1 year on!

Hello,

It's been a year ago today since my OHS. What a year it's been, with ups and downs, starting a new job, feeling exhausted, wondering if I'd ever find any normality. Looking back, I can't believe how much progress I've made and I feel optimistic about the future. Throughout it all, this forum has been a great support, whether it's the information or the words of support offered, or the sharing of experiences. Thank you so much for helping me get through such a challenging time and giving me hope ๐Ÿ™‚

Good to hear your story. Wishing you all the best. This site has certainly helped me realise I am not alone.

Thank you. The sense of not being alone is so important, also knowing there are people who know exactly what you are going through. All the best ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Cooer10

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘โค๏ธ

I do love a recovery story.

Hats off to you still working and getting on with life.

Iโ€™m retired and had my AVR tissue in January 2021.

So we are both over a year on and wasnโ€™t it surreal?

I agree that this forum is a safe and good place to be. It helped me such a lot too.

Iโ€™m now 68 and last Tuesday walked a really tough 9.43 mile coastal walk. Big elevations which challenged me but so enjoyable. What I realized was, pushing myself on that walk didnโ€™t frighten me. I had full confidence in how my body was reacting. Donโ€™t get me wrong. There was a lot of huffing and puffing . Spring and Summer ahead to do more and get fitter. Itโ€™s been a long Winter. Love walking.

Iโ€™m so pleased for you. Keep getting better every day.

Regards

Maisie

I replied in the wrong place - the post below was meant for you Victorwhiskey. One day Iโ€™ll get the hang of this posting malarkey ๐Ÿ˜‚

Dear Coper10

WOW what a fantastic post. I am so pleased for you and your positive attitude that has got you to this position in your life.

This forum has also been a god send to me as well, and just to hear words and experiences from other sufferers has helped me in my recovery as well.

Take care and I hope you go from strength to strength.
