Hidden ?

How or why do people change there name to hidden half way through answers to there post. Trying to hide something? Surely when this happens the post should be taken down and the poster blocked by admin

By deleting their account! If you read the HU info. on this it explains (iirc) that posts will remain to retain context, as long as the posts don’t require removing as in breach of T&C’s

Sheldon. Yes I have read the rules but what I mean is they still respond to replies under hidden?

I don’t see how they can once the account has been deleted! Are you sure it’s not just a timing thing?

Happened yesterday to the post. The demonisation of foods63 replies to this over 24 hours. Name changed after two hours.

I followed that post, he didn't respond as Hidden only as Supafil, once he deleted his account they all became 'Hidden', I didn't see any more posts except from other members!

SheldonMaybe I am not explaining properly. Not new posts under hidden. The original post he was still replying but under hidden during the debate

I was active on that thread (hangs head in shame) but I don't think he did respond after closing his account. It may look as if he did because of the way the posts appear but once classed as 'hidden' the account cannot be used. I don't know at what time he closed the account so cannot be absolutely sure that is the case but am pretty sure.

I think under profile you can hide your information. So people don't know who is replying. The trouble with social technology, some feel protected to be able to get things off their chest that they wouldn't usually say in person. Take care. Moni

Don't worry about it mate, otherwise "you go bald, get fat and have to wear glasses". My boss once told me that and guess what..? He was fat, bald and wore glasses.

Having just read the slanging match that ensued following a post about a travel insurance quote yesterday, I'm not surprised some people decide to hide themselves if some responders become abusive. Mostly we're a friendly open bunch :)

Try reading the post "the demonisation of foods" from a couple of days ago. That's what this post refers to. The OP deleted his account because of the onslaught of bullies, absolutely disgraceful!

And if you've seen the insurance post, you'll recognise some of the names.

Luckily when the account is deleteted, BHF keep the post, in this case locking it so no one can change anything, but all can see who is in the coven.

Just read that other post. Bullies on both sides. I'll try to keep out of it.

I've read both the posts you're referring to. What I found funny was that the 2 people abusing each other on the insurance post are 2 of the members that caused the poster of "demonisation of food" to leave!Must have very boring lives.

I noticed that too
