I have never come across anything that says it does but maybe others might
You maybe a little run down due to your heart attack can take a year to fully recover
Make sure you at least get called to have routine blood tests done once a year I have to have mine done every 12 weeks due to the meds I take
Having said that there is a very nasty virus going around that is making people quite ill even the fittest of people and then you been a Man of course will make it worse as you say Man flu which is worse than we ladies get so you just might have caught that like thousands of others are at the moment
I finished cardiac rehab in November after a HA in July, promptly got a cold and the awful cough virus that everyone else has had took weeks to stop coughing, just about clear and then on 2nd Jan came down with covid. I think it’s that time of year and I guess as we are still recovering them we may be just that but more vulnerable . Hang in in there hopefully better weather and days are ahead. I have just returned to work and has helped with me feeling a bit more normal.
Not that I am aware of , I have had a by pass 2 stents fitted, a stroke and I'm diabetic!!
I take a cocktail of meds and not aware any of them impact my immune system.
I believe diabetes does lower the immune system but speaking for my own experience I can't say I have colds/flu very often.
I have the C injections but have not taken up the offer of the flu shot as I think I put enough medication in my body.
As someone has already said a HA and stents knock you for 6 but I would have thought a year down the line you should be firing on all cylinders, you are probably due for yearly review so worth seeing how that goes.
Its funny you should say this, as this week, i now seem to have developed pain on my left hip joint. It may be bursitis, which is most likely an infection as it cant be wear and tear as ive not been as mobile as usual since my HA and stent 5 weeks ago. Either that or some weird med side effect perhaps?
Im going to call the doctor this morning anyway.
Hi Immunity is a complex mechanism dependent on multiple factors ( age, race, ethnicity, lifestyle, type of pathogens, exposure etc but most importantly the general state of mental and physical well being. Keep yourself strong mentally and warm and hydrated physically soon this flu will be over. Goodluck
I don’t believe so as they aren’t immunosuppressants or DMAR drugs. If you have an auto immune illness such as diabetes 1 then the meds will impact your immune system . Ask your pharmacist next time you pick up your meds if you are in doubt
