Dear SLK-14

A big hello to you,

I have just been put on Dapagliflzin and like you I’m on my forth dose @ 10mg a day.

Yes this morning I felt nauseous but luckily no palpitations even put me off my porridge!

As you know the list of side effects with this drug is immense, and as luck would have it the Heart Failure nurse phoned just before typing this reply to you.

It seems that the nausea is very common place and goes off after a few days, I would check with yours about the palpitations your having.

I feel that I’m very lucky to be put on this drug as it has some great benefits for some of us heart patients.

I don’t have diabetes.

Good luck, hope it all works out for you, strangely this is the only drug that I’ve suffered an almost instant side effect with { 4th dose }

Take care.

Hello Blue1958Thank you so much for your reply. I've been on Nebivolol, Spironolactone and Perindopril for one year and had no side effects at all. I know this is the wonder drug for heart failure patients and I'm desperate for it to work. Can I ask what time of day you take it and do you take it with food?

Hope all stays well with you and thank you so much for your reply...take care and stay safe 😊

Dear you,

I take it in the morning with all my other morning meds. It tends to be about an hour before my breakfast. { just after the dog has been out} like you i have been lucky and have had no side effects from other drugs.

I will give it a few more days, my nausea seems to go off after a few hours and a good cup of coffee !

Maybe we could take it before bed? Its a question that I will ask if the nausea keeps up in the morning.

Take care

Hi Blue1958,I also have just started on Dap/zin and also had an unwell feeling for a couple of weeks. Have been on now for four weeks and now feeling much better. I take the med at night because of the amount of tablets I already take in the morning and informed my heart nurse at our last meeting, she asked me to take it in the morning as it can cause you to need to wee more. I fortunately don't have the problem of having to visit the loo in the night and she said it was o.k. then for me to continue to take at night. Everyone is different and I would ask your specialist before changing med times, but in my case it was possible to do. Good luck and stay well.

Hi BlueI've been taking it with other meds in the morning, but I've just read take it with food or snacks to avoid upset tummy. I have to take Perindopril 1/2 to 1 hour before food so tomorrow it will be like you after my porridge..lol..let's see how we get on...take care now 😊
