After all I’ve read on here I’m very lucky, I never knew anything about inr (or the heart) If anyone needs to discuss anything, please let me know.
As the nurse said on discharge “we all PRETEND to know what you’ve been through “ I found when I came home I had nobody to talk with that had been through this. I’m fit & healthy I think, & thankful to all NHS staff but most of all my wife

I am so pleased you had so much support and so nice that you included your wife in that
It is hard to understand exactly what we go through and how it affects us unless we have been through similar and good we have these sites and people to talk to that know just what it is like
Dear Bekind28, getting your INR to stabilise can be difficult when you start taking it. I was discharged with afib and was not allowed to have a DC cardioversion until the INR reading had stabilised for a month which meant going to my local hospital every week for an INR blood test. I had been stable for a number of years now and was able to get a blood test at my surgery at 6 week intervals. You need to check what foods you eat as they will affect the INR reading. Kale, grapefruit juice and cranberry juice are off limits. If you eat broccoli they you need to eat the same amount each day and don’t binge on it. The internet can give you info on what foods to eat which are safer. Binging on beer is not so good - weekend benders and nothing during the week are not as good as taking one beer a night with your dinner.
Thank you for letting me know. I'm glad you're healthy now and feeling well. I hope this will be the case in the future. My father survived heart surgery and even partially went into a coma, so I am close to a similar situation. I like that you compared it to a renovation. Letting your problem go is as simple as contractorfinder.noritz.com... replacing pipes in a kitchen.
