Hello all, again, sorry for even more questions, I got 2 stents on December 22 and discharged with a load of pills, as I said previously I've went from 0 pills a day, to 10.
I was wondering what side effects you have all experienced, at the moment I am having slight aches in my back, and side, which pass, and aren't sore, just mild aches, I also feel my tummy is tight, in knots, is this, and my aches normal effects, I'm on
Aspirin
Tricagrelur
Ramipril
Atorvastatin
Isodobride
Bisoprolol
Omeprazole
I am not feeling breathless when I'm out walking or exercising, so I think the stents are working as they should, it's just the aches, and sore tummy, just wondered if that could just be side effects, I've only been on the pills for 2 weeks, so I appreciate it can take time
Thank you all again, and sorry for another of my worry worry questions
Take care all

I have been on all those apart from the last one. The only one that caused any issues were the beta blockers. My heart rate is naturally about 55, so beta blockers took it too low and caused dizziness, so I came off them. The Ticagrelor did cause bruising but so what. I got used to pill popping, it just became part of life. I have even got used to daily eye drops now, something I never thought that I would manage.
Dear ScottL
You do not have to end your posts with a sorry as we all know now what you are going through and how answers can help with the worrying.
You are on pretty standard medication for you diagnosis, but it has only been 2 weeks.
Your body is still in shock from the procedures you have had done, and then they bash you with so many new drugs.
It would not surprise me if you are feeling some of the side effects to the drugs, to be honest with you I’d have been surprised more if you had said that they hadn’t had any side effects.
That said, some are lucky { I count myself as one, without a bragging } who have no or very little side effects of medication and yet others have a really bad time.
My heart goes out to them as having suffered surgery only to have that suffering prolonged by drugs must be a nightmare.
If you still have the worries { and why not } a quick phone call to your heart nurse will help.
I also found that my pharmacist was a fantastic help with all thing medication based.
Take care and never fear asking the questions, anything that helps in your recovery I am proud to be a part of.
You are not alone, I was on Atorvastatin 80mg......it played havoc with my digestive system and gave me aches and pains all over my torso, my GP amended it to 40mg of Simvastatin, what a difference it made.A change from Lansoprazole to Omeprazole also made a difference.
We are all different and it's a question of getting onto the "cocktail" that agrees with you.
I still have a few issues that I accept as I know that the benefits the medication is given me by far out weigh a few minor niggles.
Hello ScottL, I have experienced a number of side effects, though the main ones for me have been nausea and vomiting. I have had a few of my meds changed because of this. I think the aches etc are normal. Other friends on the hub will I am sure will have a view. Take good care and hope you continue with a great recovery. Judi
Hi Scott , every one experiencing different side effects in my experience if the side effects are tolerable and the dr advising me to continue i stay on meds unless if the side effects are really. bad!
Bisoprolol reduced my blood pressure and was causing other problems but once the dr reduced the dose i am tolerating it much better
Hi Scott, I’m not sure I can be much help as some of you medication I haven’t even heard of. I am a 79 year old lady and quite active. I have permanent AF and was initially prescribed Warferin but then my consultant changed this to Apixaban. After a couple of years taking that together with Statin I began to experience some light headedness and actually passed out on one occasion so I was prescribed Bisoprolol as well. The side effects I experience with the later seems to be almost permanent runny nose and very cold extremities. I do occasionally experience palpitations and uneasy stomach but I put this down to something I’ve eaten. I do have aches and pains but I put that down to arthritis and old age! You have been prescribed a lot of meds. Why not discuss with your doctor whether you can stop any of these or at least reduce the dose. Don’t do anything without discussing it first though . I don’t have stents, just AF and three leaky heart valves. I get breathless when walking uphill, otherwise I feel fairly good. Take care and I hope you manage to get some professional advice.
I take 4 of those, in the past I was put on Simvastatin initially way back in 2012 but over time I developed muscular pain in my calves and thighs so they changed my Statin to Atorvastatin and haven't had a problem with this.In October last year they changed my blood thinners from Clopidogrel to Brilique and aspirin and I find myself panting for breath even when in bed doing nothing. I am sticking with it but it isn't really getting better but I can live with it and I will only be on them for another 10 months.
