This time 27th years ago, I was having my first AVR being done by a fantastic surgeon and his team. I can only say it was an absolute life changer. Two further surgeries down the line, haven't been without the odd hiccup or two, but, that's life.
I've always found being Positive and Optimistic of great help in getting through the difficult times.
Tomorrow, I'll probably find out if further surgery is an option or not, but that's another day.
Today, I'll have a few drinks to celebrate the first 27years.
Oh I love your post, such positivity. I am 5 years down the replacement valve road. I decided I would do everything I could to keep my heart as healthy as I could as so many people had worked so hard to give me a second chance. I have a tissue valve so know at some point I will need further help but that’s for the future and will cross that bridge when the time comes. Love your attitude, have a lovely drink and I say cheers.
Thanks Pauline, it's so easy to dwell on the negative, but, it's self-defeating. As you say deal with the future as and when it comes. You may be pleasantly surprised how long your Tissue valve lasts. 😀
