2 year anniversary today - stemi heart attack whilst out running. Emergency 4 stents after being rushed to hospital. Recovery took a few months due to
angina and the medication being changed rather often. Now back to walking 8 miles before work each day with my Guide Dog (I'm totally blind) and back running
marathons and ultra marathons with my sighted friend. Very grateful to be here and am extremely grateful to the amazing life saving care I have received
from the NHS here in Scotland during and after the event. Yes, got a whole load of pills to take each day, and have the stomach issues, but that is little
very little negatives as I wake up each day grateful to another opportunity! To those going through the early stage or others struggling a wee bit please,
please keep strong and keep as positive as possible, you will get there and be thankful for those friendly wee stents! Keep on keeping on everyone, God
Bless x

Congratulations Blindheart and well done on your recovery. That’s great that your four legged friend helps and guides you on your walks and runs, that’s a very special bond you must both have. I am fortunate to have my sight but I appreciate how my special four legged friend gets me out of the house for walks and has also helped with my NSTEMI heart attack recovery. I’ll be two years recovered on the 27th so not far behind you. Thank you for you lovely post and long may you continue to walk, run and treasure your time with your special guide dog companion. Lots of love, cheerio the noo as my wee Scottish granny used to say ❤️ 🧚🏼♀️ xxx
Inspirational Blindheart, definitely like to hear of the successes on here. I'm six months ahead of you, STEMI and 7 stents in all, they just wouldn't let me go without the stent placing practice haha
Really comforting to hear of that special bond with your 4-legged companion, I only took up running following my event and miss it when I can't run when I'm under the weather.
Just shows it doesn't need to be the end after a biggie heart event, more like the beginning of something new and different, even an opportunity perhaps?
