Bisoprolol helped my headaches

Hi I've been in bisoprolol 1.25mg for 6 months whilst undertaking test ect for query blocked Lad and palpation ect.

So far things looking positive. So I've been asked to stop most of medication. I asked to stay on bisoprolol as I had no palpation and having had headaches for last 35 years most days I hardly had any . They agreed for me to stay on.

A week ago it was suggested that I try and stop it now .so I have given it a go and with in few days headaches back and palpations and a more noticeable ectopic beat .

Had any one stopped and gone back on it ?

Dear Candle11

I read with interest your post and the change in your headache situation.

As with many I am also on the similar combination of drugs that you are on.

I never noticed at first but my headaches seem to have diminished as well.

You may well be right about the bisoprolol, it is something that I will look into {not unless another member knows}.

Take care

Clopidogrel had exactly the same side issue. Sixty years of migraines then put on Clopidogrel and migraines ceased. I did a careful test by stopping for five weeks, then returning.

Perhaps you could ask for an opinion from either your GP practice or your chemists, whichever have a specialist.

I am on Clopidogrel due to a stroke six years ago. Bisoprolol 1.5 added to my list of medications following AVR two years ago.

Hello :-)

It seems like Bisoprolol is a wonder drug for headaches

I have suffered years with migraines , I could get one every week but if not I was lucky to go every 6 weeks , I would dread them as they took so much out of me

When I had my heart attacks I asked the Consultant about these migraines I got and he said the Bisoprolol they now had put me on could possibly help them

It has been over a year since my first heart attack and I hope I am not talking to soon but I have not had one migraine , I sometimes have felt one is trying to come on but it doesn't

Been free so far with migraines looks like the Consultant was right and I would not want to come of them and have my migraines back

I can see why you would want to stop on them :-) x

Now you mention it, I have not had a migraine since I have been on bisoprolol, and only a couple of mild headaches.
