Hi everyone. New on this forum. I have had AF intermittently for some 6 years and have noticed my heart can get excited by simplest stimulant. Recently I’ve had steroid pain injections to my hip and it seems very much as if this causes increased AF episodes with high pulse rates. Has anyone else experienced this at all?
My best wishes. Thanks

I suffered with AF after having a triple bypass {seems this is common} and was told to keep off taking the steroid cream that I had been issued after have testicular cancer {in remission}
It had no effect with me at all so the consultant said I could re-start it.
Mine was easy to monitor as I only have to stop the cream, yours must be so much harder having the stuff inside you.
I hope your Dr can find some answers for you, but a big clue is when you say that even a small amount of stimulates can affect your AF.
Thankyou for your kind reply Blue. Yes it’s crazy what has triggered my racing pulse and AF previously. Spraying cellulose paint, ibuprofen, steroid injection, moderate beer. !I can only assume my heart is very sensitive. To get over my current symptoms I have stopped having caffeine drinks. I think this will be key to getting back to a closer to normal rhythm.
A triple bypass is a big undertaking for you and I wish you well with your health. Interesting that the advice was to stop the steroid cream. Good though that you didn’t have to. I will have to wait until my shot subsides! Thanks again.
