This is something to discuss with a pharmacist and your GP. We are not medically trained and certainly not able to interpret info about interactions between drugs found on the net.
I am ruminating about info I've found about 2 unrelated drugs I'm taking ( one a new addition) so understand your concerns
Sorry can't advise on this question. I've never come across Setraline and it hasn't been mentioned by my Cardiologist re: the Flecainide I'm taking. Suggest you check with your specialist or the British Heart Foundation help line. Best wishes.
I take both, EP and cardiologist are ok. It isnt that they are incompatible so much as sometimes flecainide dose needs to b lower if you are on both. Ive not had any issues for 2 yr. You might ask your particular doc and pharmacist to be sure
Thanks for the comments guys
Did you rather mean Sertraline and not Setraline? The equivalent of Prozac?
If you are elderly or over 65 years of age then your system cannot process all the Flecainide and the excess will build up in your blood glucose.
Half life will be extended above normal.
Sertraline will prevent some Flecainide absorption and will attenuate the above.
This will cause your heartbeat to lower to critical levels.
Flecainide lowers the hearts ability to absorb salts that are responsible for the electrical pulses. Too much Flecainide will thus lower the HB and their intensity.
This is how I read it and with consulting my pharmacist. I was told to not take Sertraline by him due to my age.
