Me again, does anyone have cough with bisoprolol , I don't seem to have any luck with this tablet so far, I'm in 2.5mg been on it ten days, blood pressure really low part of day, then rises quite a bit late afternoon, I take it at night, hands get very cold on and off through day, I heard alot of positive things regarding this medication, but so far not great.

Bisoprolol 2.5mg
I am on it and it hasn't caused a cough. ACE Inhibitors, like Lisinopril and Ramipril, are known to cause a dry cough in some individuals.
Dear Robann
I do not get a cough. Only on 1.25 but no cough.
I know it takes a few weeks for my body to get drugs in to the system, so personally I give a drug five weeks to settle.
Keep trying
Colin
I had runny nose and white fingers with Bisoprolol. Doctor discontinued it as other meds were controlling BP.
Thats a good outcome.
Don’t know why I was prescribed it in first place after stents as blood pressure was always well controlled by Perindopril. Dosage never changed either. Consultant seemed surprised at Bisoprolol when I went for 6 week checkup. Do hospitals just issue loads of meds on discharge? I was never given any reasons for the meds prescribed though I knew why Clopidogrel and aspirin were used but even hospital discharge notes were wrong stating aspirin for 12 months and Clopidogrel for life. Had to question this with consultant who agreed it was the wrong way round.
It is all a bit of a minefield. As mussisF suggests, maybe a pharmacist could rationalise the medication.Just to throw another spanner, I have been told I should not use aspirin whilst I am on clopidogrel. But this is from the stroke team, not the cardiac team. Most of these medications are long term so it’s hard to guess what might be causing this ailment or that ailment.
I try to remind myself that doctors saved my life the day I had a stroke. And doctors again saved my life a couple of days after OHS. So I am inclined to believe what they tell me !
Best wishes
Colin
It’s early days but my hubby has been on it for years and always has freezing cold hands and feet. It’s a known side effects of beta blockers. There are alternatives though so if you’re struggling after a month go back and ask your heart nurse or pharmacist if you can change?
hi i’ve been on 7.5mg for about 8 months and must say i’ve been fine no side effects… worth going to your doctor to get it checked out xx
I had choking fits on Bisoprolol. It was changed and they stopped👍🏼
Ramipril usually causes the cough (Google: "Ramipril Cough"), not Bisoprolol. Was so happy when I was taken off it!
Yes I have a cough but not sure which of my medicines give me it. Cardiologist has referred me to the respiratory department and waiting to see them on the 25 th Nov.
NO cough but it didn't suit me at all. Even the lowest dose dropped my BP so low I couldn't function. I was taken off it and it wasn't replaced by anything.
Hi ,
I was on ramphil aftery heart surgery for 5 years and devolped a bad cough,
then onto Bisoporol for 3 years , again a couch started again, and out of breath
, Now on Carvedilol much better twice a day. 3.25 mg , also similar , all end in lol
All of these meds have side affects, It is to find a medicine that you can tolerate, as we all react differently to these medications
My Doctor is very understanding, but not all Doctors are the same
Good Luck
Yes, it makes me cough, bit of a runny nose too. Thinking of asking to come off it - had it for ages now and fed up
