Well Gazer, my problems haven't been going on anywhere nearly as long as yours have been, in my case 4 years, however I had always been a very fit and healthy person up until the start of my problems.Gradually since my last A&E admission back in March (and ZERO treatment from the NHS) I have been really trying to get back to somewhere closer to my old levels of fitness and converting some of the additional flab back into usable muscle.
Over the last 3 days I have been exacting with my exercise regime as I have had a 72 hour ECG tape fitted, pressing the green button whenever the Angina pains start to pang, always with the magical GTN spray at close hand.
But with each passing day, my muscles are returning and my flab has now almost totally gone and overall I am feeling overall so very much better.
I am 72 and my daily exercise programme includes 100 squats, 40 press ups and 40 trunk curls followed by 20 to 30 mins. on my bike turbo trainer at medium to high cadence rates and torque settings.
Hi Buzzy-Beans, did you have to mention flab, I have called it a little thickening around the middle or a little extra weight, but yes your right the realty is it's flab.😪. Take care.
Oh smacked wrists!..... sorry. In my case, my slight increase in tummy size was very strange and it took a lot of searching to find out what was the cause of it, until I discovered the clinical name of Diastisis Recti, which is basically the weakened 6 pack muscles (due to my health induced lack of exercise) which resulted in these muscles becoming ever weaker, which in turn allowed strange flabby lumps to suddenly pop through the gap. A very poor explanation of the problem, but my daily exercise programme is being done in the attempt to put matters to rights. Better explained herelivestrong.com/article/3018...
