Surgery and a common cold

Hi everyone

As I have written before my ohs is on Saturday.

My hubby got a bad cold and cough last Wednesday. He's had a pcr test which came back negative this morning.

My pre op covid test is on Wednesday.

I have had a slightly sore throat for a few days , I don't know if I will come down with a cold or not.

Does anyone know how that might affect surgery ?.

Thanks

Unlikely to happen if you are unwell, call the hospital for advice.

Hi Barb,

Have you had your pre-op? And how are you feeling? Saturday is a long way off in the cold front, maybe hang fire a bit, I wouldn't be putting doubts in the hospital's mind just yet. Only my opinion of course.

Good luck

Hi , I was having my op at Plymouth but surgeon from there asked if I would go to London ( private ) to have op quicker..I had a pre op at Plymouth and also a pre op over the phone with the London hospital.

I feel fine , just abit of a sore throat.

Thanks
