I have been struggling with a strong pulse on the right side of my neck for several weeks.
Was prescribed amlodipine in January after having sudden hypertension episode.
The doctor says it's a normal pulse, but it's so loud and even woke me up this morning. I can see it pounding in my neck. Does anyone else have this or know what could be the cause?
Thanks

I have this too on right side has been getting slowly worse for two years ... every doc says it’s something different and non bothered by it... but it bothers me! Been told it’s stress due to covid (it started prior to covid), high blood pressure, kink in blood vessel near ear.... etc. I have just had two TIAs and have cholesterol deposits round my eyes but still no doc worried about it.
Hi, Holiday 12345,It's strange that doctors seem to say anxiety for any symptoms at the moment.
I have high cholesterol as well as hypertension, all came suddenly as previously fit and healthy.
Hope you can get an answer, two years is a long time.
Thanks for your reply

I have that on the left side, but all the time. Odd evenings. It can be quite annoying. Funny those are the nights I often have a bit of a bloated feeling as well. Nobody I’ve mentioned it to seems overly concerned.
I too have had this for over a month now. It seems to have happened since starting to take Canestartan bp meds but this could be just coincidence. I too have thought it may be kink in neck artery but don't know how to find out. Am waiting for appointment with physio to see if it could be problem with neck posture. Just guessing at moment. Will report back.
