Warfarin. Pinpoint red spots.

Hi all, A couple of months ago I noticed that my feet were covered in dozens of pinpoint red spots. They are still there today. I wasn't unduly worried until I noticed on the paper sheet inside the Warfarin box the advice that you should talk to the doctor immediately if you develop, you've guessed it, pinpoint red spots. I had my INR test today and showed them to the nurse, she said not to worry. I'm confused.

Hi Tickertalker. I'm on Warfarin as well and had an INR Test today but I tend to trust the Nurses at the Clinic too. They know their Job! I have them too, but have had them for years, even before taking the Warfarin! My advice, don't believe everything you see or hear. If you are really concerned, why not contact your Doctor? 😀

I am always interested in anything to do with warfarin. I had not heard of this so did some googling. 1/ See a previous thread healthunlocked.com/afassoci...

2/ List of possible reasons newhealthadvisor.org/Pinpoi...

3/ Another list. skinvision.com/articles/pin...

Warfarin may be a reason, or it may be an aggravating reason, or it may be something else.

How does this help? I suggest you go through these lists and pick out a few. When you see your doctor I suggest you avoid the leading questions: avoid suggestions so that the doctor has to think. Doctors are human and we know from psychology that people usually take the easy way out, so let them propose. Then you produce a (written) list of suggestions and ask them to give their opinion and why.

Hi ILowe. Sorry for not replying earlier but I have been lying down nearly all Afternoon with an absolute 'Corker' of a Headache!! Now I have ended up with a bit of a Blood Shot Eye (again)! I have been in touch with my Doctor about this before and he said go to the Optician and get your Eyes tested! I have now done that, and they cannot find anything unduly wrong only getting older and have had new Glasses. I have also mentioned this before to the Pharmacist, (who is excellent by the way), and he seems to think there could be a possible link to one of the Tablets I am on. So, I will, indeed take a look at this. Thank you.

PS: I do not like Googling very much as Google doesn't know our personal circumstances but it is well worth a read I suppose and, as long as it comes from a Credible Website! 😊

Hello Tickertalker. I am no longer on Warfarin. I am now on Rivaroxaban. I don't think I had red spots on my feet and I took warfarin for 10 years. However, I have such sensitive skin that if I did have red spots I would just think I was reacting to something but not necessarily warfarin.
