Without knowing some background behind this it is difficult to make comment.

Hello macc1234

I am on a diuretic daily I had Aortic valve replaced and bypass done 4 years ago, the water tablet is to help my heart not have to work so hard on getting rid of the fluid.

Is it your Doctor or Cardiologist who has suggested you go on it?

Hope you get it sorted

Best wishes Pauline

It's the cardiologist who's suggested it I'm finding it all very confusing I'm currently on 10mg bisoprolol and 7.5mg ramipril if it wasn't for the mri I wouldn't know as I have no symptoms at all its chemo related due to breast cancer

Some months after my OHS i was put on water tablets, i took them for a (very) short while, while I questioned why I had been put on them as I had no water retention or HF, they where stopped!

Ask the question of the person(s) who can answer for your individual case, sometimes it is a case of the 'stock' suite of tablets given regardless of whether they are really needed/beneficial.

I was started on diuretics because of a fluid build up in my lungs. It might not be for obvious swelling. The best source would be whoever prescribed them.

I have no swelling but was given them to help lower my high blood pressure.

I'm on them with no water retention or symptoms with my heart failure. I was told the combination of three drugs, for me Candestartan, bisoperol 10mg and a water tablet, was preventative and helped ensure better long term outcomes.

I was diagnosed with HF 12 years after chemo treatment. I’m on 6 tablets including Spirolactone. Initially I was on 2 fluid tablets but started having dizzy spells about 8wks later and was taken off one.

Hi,Like RufusScamp I was placed on water tablets as Heart Failure had caused a build up of fluid on my lungs. This was seen with an X-Ray

As someone who has lived with heart failure for 18 years, I'm of the belief to take all the help you can get.

A stitch in time and all that.

🙂
