I have been experiencing very similar numbers for a few months now, getting very light headed but so far haven't passed out! I don't have Heart Failure.
My GP, guided somewhat by my cardiologist (who wasn't overly concerned when i saw him in Jan) has been tweaking my dosages & now timing of my meds, namely Bisoprolol & Losartan. I have gone from 10mg Bisoprolol to 5mg twice a day now down to 2.5mg twice a day. Losartan from 25mg to 12.5mg twice a day, then 12.5 once a day, then changed the timings.
So far no real change in BP
Yesterdays readings
96/45 59
85/52 57
93/55 58
I think part of my problem is that Pre SCA & OHS i always had a BP that was lower end of normal & a lowish Resting HR, now my fitness levels are better the meds are causing these issues, the cardiologist does not want me to stop them all together as the strain they take off my heart is better in the long term.
See GP again next week, so see what he suggests next, I have a lot of faith in both him and my cardiologist, it's just frustrating that it's so much trial & error.
I was put on a lot of tablets whilst waiting for my bypass and valve repair. The Cardiologist said it was to protect my heart prior to my operation. Unfortunately I’ve been kept on the same dosage even after my operation.
I was on:
100mg - Levothyroxine
25mg - Levothyroxine
75mg - Aspirin Dispersible
3.75mg - Bisoprolol
1 x 5/40/mg - Co-amilofruse
2 x 500mg - Paracetamol
50mg - Sertraline
1 x 5/40/mg - Co-amilofruse
12.5mg - Losartan
10mg - Atorvastatin
10mg - Amitriptyline
2 x 500mg Paracetamol
During my last hospitalisation they:
Bisoprolol reduced to 2.5mg
Stopped Losartan and Co-amilofruse and Amitrityline
I’ve now been given:
Spironolactone - Which I was told is a potassium sparing diuretic for treating heart failure.
I’ve felt slightly better since my meds change but I’m still very breathless and dizzy.
Hi Davewm Run it past your GP for guidance, I have low blood pressure which can go as low as 74/52 but have got used to it, you may feel a bit dizzy particularly when you get up from sitting so just stop to re adjust good luck 👍
