This morning after taking my tablets Bisoprorol, prasugrel, atorvastatin rampiril after 20-30 min I was unable to stand up, walk and I was experiencing hi dizziness vomiting sensation. I was rushed to emergency room and blood test and ecg were normal only thing they told me was that BP was low when I arrived at emergency room but after that was fine and nothing else. Now I'm really worried about taking my tablets tomorrow regarding the my BP dropping too low . Any advice what should I do or how to raise my BP in a fast and safe way?
I'm a 41 male with a HA in January and a stent fitted. Thank you.

Once while I was in hospital I was advised to drink plenty of water to bring my BP up. Also, as we know, salt can raise BP. Contact your GP first thing Monday morning or if you want advice before then call the NHS 111 helpline and ask their advice. They will get a Dr to call you back, but be aware you may have to wait a few hours for that.
Hi Alex, I stopped Bisoprolol as my HR went down to 43bpm and I tired so add the rest and yes sounds like you reacted to that morning dose. I advise anyone to know what they are taking and what it is supposed to be doing. Knowing side effects is essential. Yes, discuss with GP and sounds like your doses need adjusting. Medication is easily checked on line or read the advice given with the medication. Take Care.
Hi, sorry to hear you are feeling like this. A couple of years ago I had similar symptoms, ended up in A&E twice with no specific reason why, even had a CT scan on my head. Eventually a locum GP at my doctors surgery listed all my tablets (heart meds I had just been prescribed before these episodes) and told me to stop taking one each week, top of the list was Astorvastin, within 2 days all symptoms gone! Speak to your GP and question your medication.
Hi..I had the same at 42 18 months ago.and had a similar issues due to the bisopralol,.. I had my meds reviewed and they lowered the dose. Deffo Spk to your doc. Also I'm have to take atorvastatin at night not in the morning? Don't forget you've had a huge body change in such a short time.. don't try rush getting better. I'm only just going back to work myself. And also take all cardiac rehab offered, I missed out due to covid closures and just had to deal with it myself. Currently under physiological assessment because of it . My doc says I have a form of PTSD due to what's happened. Get better soon
I couldn't tolerate bisoprolol at all, even a low dose. I think you need medical advice on this one. I'd get back on to your GP tomorrow morning if I was you. Good luck!!
I had to come off bisopralol because it dropped my BP far too low. Talk to your GP As soon as possible. Your dose may need adjusting or maybe just taking the tablets at different times of the day.
When I was being discharged from hospital after my HA I was advised to take my bisoprolol in the morning and the ramipril ( and atorvastatin) at night to avoid both medicines which affect blood pressure hitting the system at the same time....seems to have worked for me.
I had a telephone consultation with a pharmacist who works from my GP practice once a week. We went through all my meds and she explained the best time to take meds and what not to take together. All my questions answered in a 30 minute call. Sometimes pharmacist actually know more about all the heart meds we have to take. hopefully you can find one who has the time to give you.
Sorry Alex this was through my GP and a new service, also she had all my notes. Any good pharmacist should be happy to help, but don't go when they are busy !We all hate taking all of these meds but we also know what will happen if we don't.
I had a HA and stent fitted 6 yrs ago. It took a while -approx 6 months to balance all my med dosages. You could speak to your local pharmacist - they’re always very knowledgeable about side effect etc. and above all try not to worry. It’s all so strange at the start if you’ve never taken any meds - and you’ve had a bit of a psychological shock as well as a physical one.. I take the statin in the evening with my meal. It suggests evening on the pack as it can cause sickness. Hope you get some help and reassurance.
