Hi all, 1 year on from my stent and all going well, however for the past week, I've been getting dizzy spells. I went to my gp who diagnosed low BP and told me to keep hydrated and rest, which I have done but still getting the dizzyness. It feels like a very mild electric shock in my head sometimes. I'm on 5mg of beta blockers per day. Has anyone had similar?
Thanks 🙂

Hi Bonham, What Beta Blocker are you on . Low BP and feeling of dizziness may be related to beta blocker which may need adjustment. Do you also have a feeling of vertigo. If so best to check your ears but the balance organs which are the semi-circular canal may be inflamed.
Hi, thanks for replying. My GP checked for vertigo and ruled it out. I'm on Bisopralol, 2.5 mg am and 2.5mg pm. Been on that dosage for 4 months with no issues and my GP will review the dizziness in 1 week.I'm active, walking and yoga daily, don't drink or smoke and my diet is strictly heart healthy.
I measured mine twice a day every day last week prior to a review with our Practice pharmacist. It was ridiculously low, around 90/55 at times. I don’t get dizziness though but I am drained of energy. I’m only on 1.25 of Bisoprolol a day. The pharmacist said the more likely culprit was the diuretics I’m taking.
Hi, my gp did mention coffee intake. I work from home and sometimes I can have up to 5 cups a day , so I've cut back to 2 and increased my water intake.
So much sound advice and support from everyone. Thank you all.
Hi Bonham123, has this coincided with the hot weather.I had an angioplasty a year ago with a couple of stents being fitted to my LAD, last Summer I struggled with the hot weather.... dizziness on standing being one of the issues.
I've been ok this week with the hot weather.
I'm on 2.5 mg of Bisoprolol a day.
My BP sits at a very consistent 103/105 over 63/65
