Anyone taking Apixiban had problems with enemia and blood test issues

My father has been told he has aterial fibrulation, he has been on Apixiban for 18 months, in summer last year he was having problems with pains in his legs and breathlessness, when blood tests were done he had low platelets and blood count, he was taken off Apixiban, given vit injections, iron and folic acid, he had repeat blood tests and everything was going back up. After 3 months he had bloods taken last week and they have come back showing enemia, lower blood count and platelet count. He has been referred to a blood clinic and his GP has confirmed that the apixiban is probably causing the problems. Anyone else had this problem whilst taking any of the new blood thinners particularly Apixiban, if so what was done about it or any medication changes made. Thanks

Not sure what enemia is, but I am on apixaban after having been on warfarin for years. Have found apixaban much less of a hassle, but regular blood tests reveal low platelet counts and I've noticed some dark blotches under the skin. The medics don't seem unduly worried.
