Just wondered generally how long people had to take the blood thinners (clopidogrel) and beta blockers (bisoprolol) for after OHS AVR with tissue valve. I have no other heart conditions. I’m 5 weeks post surgery and will see surgeon on Thursday so will ask him officially then but just thought I’d see what the general rule of thumb is.
Thanks

Have come off beta blockers but am still on Clopidogrel. Am speaking to cardiac team in March so will wait to see what they say. My surgeon said I would probably come off the Clopidogrel in a month from op but not got appointment till March!! Hope your talk with surgeon goes well.
I had a mitral valve repair in October 2017 and have been on bisoprolol since then. I asked my cardiologist in 2019 (see him yearly for a check up) and he said I would be on them for the rest of my life. Sorry if this is not what you want to here
I'm on Rivaroxaban blood thinners after having the Inspiris Resilia biological valve in July last year, and I was told that it would be for a year only.
I'm on the Bisoprolol due to the AF, so I don't know how long I'll be on them for.
