Hi looking for advice on how long My son should wait before going in the swimming pool. We are hoping to get away for a few nights and he will be 6 and half weeks post op. Just wondered if this was too soon to have a little dip (obviously wont be doing lengths). Thanks

The BHF and NHS guidelines are that you can return to swimming at 12 weeks subject to the breastbone and the wound having healed, and getting the OK from your GP/cardiologist.
So glad you;ve posted again - I've often wondered how your son got on after your earlier posts. Sounds like it all went well. Best wishes as he continues to recover.

Glad to hear it is going well - it came back to me after reading Calliope's post. Being much younger than the usual person here I was wondering if he is getting or going to have rehab?
Slightly early for rehab, the breastbone has to heal first.
