Pre-opp assessment tomorrow then surgery on Monday. Trying to be brave but it is a very scary time.

Good luck, I had my valve replaced 6 years ago, but I went mechanical X

You'll soon be feeling the benefit of it X

The op is the easy bit, it's the surgeon's that do all the hard work, then your bit is to get the recovery right X

Take every day one day at a time, there is no normal, we all do things at different speeds X

Listen to your body X get plenty of rest X

Best wishes for a speedy recovery x

I absolutely agree! The operation is up to the surgeon but the convalescence up to us!

Keep going Cobra you’re doing really well. I’m 9 weeks post op from tissue AVR, root And hemiarch replacement and starting to think about returning to work. Stay positive.. it’s the best way to approach all this (no one has ever been as scared in advance of it than myself)

Keep talking to us all there’s plenty of support here.

All the best for your op. I’m sure everything will be fine and you’ll soon be on the road to recovery. Don’t forget we’re here if you need us.

Hi, how’s your recovery going? I’m doing fine, had my check ups and everything’s good. So glad I could help, having been through the process, twice, it’s good to be able to help others going through the same thing. Take care.

Better than I ever imaging Wendy. Couple of bumps along the way and a mini stroke losing one eye but could have been a lot worse and am feeling positive. Glad everything ok for you Mark z

Hi Cobra and DenHump! Hope your surgeries go ahead as planned. I got cancelled three days before going in. It was worse than the wait that preceded it!

Thanks everyone for your support. The pre-assessment went really well, although a long day. My husband came with me and we were really impressed with the hospital and all the staff. Our daughter is getting married in April and I’m so relieved to be having this done now so have plenty of time to recover xx
