The past two days now I've not got the usual daily update on new posts, discussion starter posts people I follow make, or replies to any comment/reply I make. I've been through my settings here and at my email account to be sure nothing has accidentally been turned off - it hasn't.
Am I the only person here having this problem the past few days?

Oh you've got it now! I had this problem a few weeks ago, everything went quiet for a week or so then it went back to normal - no input from me, just returned! very strange 😷
Reading through the replies on this discussion so far, I see I'm not alone and I also see a few of you are saying it happened then resolved without you having to do anything. What a relief it's not just me and that it will likely resolve. Eventually.
Apart from your notification problems, is it me or has there been a bit of a lack of interest on here over the past couple of months? Maybe people are getting a bit cheesed off generally?I think we need a good "lets ban Christmas" debate...........
Sorry, can't 'like' that - if ever Christmas cheer was needed in spades it is Christmas 2020. I usually savour the entire season beginning from the First Sunday of Advent through to the Epiphany (aka Twelfth Night 6 January), and while I do enjoy Hogmanay (NYE) I don't long for it the way I do the First Sunday of Advent.
This year? This year I can't wait for 2021 to arrive, I am quite hopeful this pandemic nightmare will end early in the year and we can begin the recovery (economy, social infrastructure).
I did say I was joking, I thought they were all a bit miserable up there?Anyway I hope you are right about the new year, although personally I fear things are going to get worse after xmas, I do hope not.
I share your fear of a hard hit after Christmas. I appreciate the PM's efforts to give us the opportunity to make wise choices regarding how many loved ones we meet up with over Christmas - but there's always some who push the boundaries and I think we're going to see a sharp uptick in cases and hospitalisations which will lead to a national lockdown. I live in Scotland so I fully expect the FM to go the PM one better (not disrespecting her but she does tend to work overtime at one-upping the PM, let's be honest here) and lock us all down up here to the point of telling us we can't even go out into our own gardens without full-on PPE 😜
I know a Nurse here (Derby) and she says the Covid wards are as full as they ever were, with a lot of people in their 50's as well (OK with underlying issues). What with the students coming home, the colder weather, the ridiculous crowds out shopping topped off by Boris's mad 5 days, I think we are going to be in the brown stuff come February, unfortunately. If we didn't have the vaccine I dread to think what the mood of the country would be like.
Hello Sunnie, It has been a bit weird I agree and so pleased you are still contributing! I haven't said much these last few months because it struck me that for all good reason our Health Unlocked was turning more into a social chit chat rather than serious concerns raised. Of course it is a big help to all of us to be able to express ourselves in these strange viral times. Anyway, good to know we are mainly still in the land of the living! Take care up there in Scotland.
I think the mix (serious discussion and chat) is generally even but with the pandemic delaying investigations and treatments I think the chat has increased to fill the space usually spent on investigations and treatments discussion.
One of the biggest reasons I was/am concerned about whatever glitch is stopping my notifications is missing the daily update - I've come to rely on that email to alert me to discussion starters I missed looking at the feed here on the site.
Too, I miss being notified someone has messaged me or replied to something I've said. Hoping it will resolve soon but thank-heavens for bookmarks and waking up to realising I need to use that bookmark several times a day to keep up. I've got so much from this site both in knowledge and a very real sense I'm not alone and even the most unwell Heartie still manages a sense of humour
Folks sorry but I am not very IT savvy at all and don’t understand what bookmark is so I’m probably missing out on posts .... I would hate to think someone had corresponded with me and I missed it for some reason... so apologies if I have inadvertently not replied to something, hopefully not..
A bookmark is saving teh address of the page so you can quickly find it again. At the top of your page above t he messages it shoudl say Bookmark on the menu bar. If you click on that it will let you save the page so you can easily find it again.
