Headaches caused by Isosorbide Mononitrate

Hi

Along with the usual combination of heart medications I have now been prescribed nitrate medication, aware of the likelihood of headaches (which I've been having every day for the past week) but wondered if these are likely to subside over time as my body gets used to it?

I am on this medication and suffered with headaches for the first couple of weeks which have now stopped and I have continued with the nitrates for the past few years with no further problems

been on 120mg of this medication for nearly a year.. upped from 60mg.. had a few headaches after increase.. but totally fine now👍

I had absolutely killer headaches, didn't get better so stopped it.

I managed ok with Bisoprolol and GTN spray.

Hi Stamford1, i was put on 60mg initially and had really bad headache around the back of my head for a week, headaches passed after a day or two into week2 , was upped to 120mg and the headaches eere much milder and lasted on a day or so

I had terrible headaches for about7- 10 days and then they eased off ,i am on 60mg

Thanks for that, only on 25mg a day, been on it a week now so hopefully headaches will ease off soon

my husband has been taking these for a week and has gone from someone who is really active to an invalid. I’m hoping he gets used to these.
