I have isosorbide mononitrate for my unstable angina. I'm on daily 60mg. Be prepared for headaches for a little while whilst your body adapts.

While I was waiting for my triple bypass I was prescribed Amlodipine. They did help when I was cycling with no side effects.

These drugs open up your arteries a little for improved blood flow. I have them for Angina. I guess that mean they help with blood pressure too. Personally I didn't get the headaches everyone warns you about but if you do then will subside over time. Persevere and they will help.Susie

As it’s for BP I MIGHT just not take and lose weight as this is going on for years

I was on 2.5 mg Ramipril as it also helps treat heart failure. To help with my low ejection fraction I was taken off it in July 2022 and I’m now on maximum dose twice daily of Entresto. Ramipril does relax blood vessels which certainly helps to lower blood pressure, so it’d good you’re on it. I had no adverse effects from being on Ramipril. All the best.

Been on 10 mg of ramipril for 10 years or more with the add on of 16 mg of doxazosin for a couple of years BP always been high never really drops and now the doctor has add 25 mg of Isosorbide Mononitrate without consulting me about any other options , just add on and see if it does the job when that tablet is for angina , I don’t have angina

Hi, I take Isosorbide Mononitrate 60mg daily and also ramipril 10 mg and also Doxazosin. The Isosorbide Mononitrate was prescribed to help prevent angina symptoms. I believe it also reduces blood pressure and should help if that’s why they e been prescribed. I’ve been taken these medications for a long time now and I’m not aware of any side effects. I think I had some headaches when I started but not for long. They worked for me. Best of luck.

This used to be called Chemydur which my wife takes but is presently unavailble in that name

Hi yes Ramipril will certainly help relax and widen your arteries to increase your blood flow given a little time to get used to them.👍🖐️
