ECG question

this might sound stupid. 3 months ago i took myself to A&E after advice from 111.. chest pain and HR acting erratically for about 30 mins during and after pain.. nurse who did the ECG said it ‘was all over the place’ but taking a deep breath could do that while ECG was taking place.. i didn’t take a deep breath! lol.. does anyone know if the episode i’d had earlier in the day would cause the ‘all over the place’ reading on the ECG?

Doesn't sound stupid to me at all - were you followed up by anyone from Cardiology or at least your GP?

had a 24hr holter test carried out 8 weeks ago.. received a reply yesterday from the Acute Medicine Consultant who arranged it .. he saw me on that night.. said overall everything looked ok.. heart rhythm was fine during the 24hrs apart from some ectopics but advised that sometimes things can be ok on the day the monitor is recording lololol.. .. just keep taking the meds. and the usual.. any pain that doesn’t subside.. call 999

Thank-you for updating. I'd keep a log of at least daily BP, ox sats, heart rate, and any symptoms for the next few months to keep an eye out for spikes, but it is reassuring to hear the consultant doesn't think there is anything truly sinister going on. I'd still keep that log, though - an acute medicine consultant, however well trained, isn't a consultant cardiologist and keeping a log will help if you progress to the point of needing a cardiologist.

my Cardiologist actually called before this incident.. to go over meds.. i was having exacerbation of my diverticulitis.. he was surprised to learn that another Consultant (non cardiologist) had prescribed Omaprazole.. he told me to stop taking it as my 75mg aspirin wasn’t causing me any problems.. result diverticulitis has settled down.. and a ne less tablet to take lol.. how are you btw?

All things considered, I'm disgustingly well, lol! Every now and again a wee spot of angina but usually owing to something silly I've done, otherwise I'm great. I hope the same for you!
