ECG results

Hi everyone,

I have received the following from my consultant and been discharged but tbh, I concerned by what I am reading after passing out last year.

The letter says

"His ECG in clinic today showed normal QRS axis with normal R wave progression, deep S waves in lead 2 but not meeting the LVH criteria.

U waves see.

The QRS appeared slightly fragmented in V3 with prominent J waves seen in lead 2.

The PR interval, QRS and QTc durations were all within normal limits, there was T wave inversion in 3 and mild ST elevation of 1mm in lead II and less than 2mm upsloping ST elevation in lead V2 and V3.

Non specific changes."

Can anyone help me understand whether these are readings that a 55 year old male should be asking for further investigation on or whether I should be concerned?

Hi Lincspoacher,

Anything that concerns you should be followed up with your GP. Do not hesitate to contact them to explain your ECG results. Unfortunately, no one is qualified on this platform to interpret them for you.

I hope you get some answers soon.

I was told by the BHF that they couldn't advise me on my query as they were not allowed to access my records.

Hi I have abnormal ecg’s on a regular basis and these are historical since my heart attack Oct’22 .I have inverted T waves with ST depression and only yesterday spent a number of hours in ACU with a thorough examination by a cardiologist including a echocardiogram.Whilst my ecg’s are shown as abnormal they appear to be expected and are not of concern to my cardiologist. We are all different in our various heart functions but press your doctor for answers. My advise is to always ask questions during and after any procedure whilst you have the attention of the person on the spot.Would I be right thinking you’re from yellow belly county 👍

Hello from another yelly belly.I was born in Louth 😊

You have been given some good advice already, in particular suggesting you contact the BHF helpline and speak with a cardiac nurse.

I also have ST depressions and T wave inversions on my ECGs. My Cardiologist becomes worried when I have dynamic changes over time.

He intreprets my ECG results in the context of my heart condition.
