Hi SGH47
I’ve been taking a similar dose of ramipril and bisopromol after being stented
I felt unwell when in1st took them and had to amend my dose with gp but soon got used to them , I found that certain foods made me feel worse and stopped drinking tea and coffee , have now been on them for 12 months
And have been stable .
I also found my hands and feet were always cold
Hope this helps stay strong
Good Idea to take your Ramipril in the evening, it takes about 12-13 hours to wash through your system. Get some really thick woolly socks to keep your feet warm at night at night
I found 2.5mg bisoprolol leaves me washed out, easily tired out. And severely constipated too . It was prescribed after inserting 2 stents 3 weeks ago. The cardiologist who did the stents advised to drop it totally. In retrospect, that wasn't good advice because sudden stopping a beta blocker can result in ectopic heart beats, which is what happened today to me, which took me to A&E to be checked through. Another cardiologist explained that to me, and explained that I am better off to try 1.25mg bisoprolol to avoid getting ectopic beats (i.e. random extra heart beats), which also may not leave me washed out like the 2.5mg did.
And I am just getting to grips with the regularisation of the bowel movements, by titrating ducosate laxative with psyllum husk (Fybogel) coz I'm also still on atorvastatin, clopidogrel and apixaban. Most of those also can make for constipation.
Atorvastatin is the only statin which can be taken at night or any other time of the day. All other statins are recommended to be taken at night coz the liver makes cholesterol mainly at night. There must be some pharmacokinetic data out there proving that taking atorvastatin in the daytime is equally as effective at inhibiting the liver synthesis of cholesterol as taking it at night. Otherwise the atorvastatin product information would not be allowed by the medicines regulators to claim that it can be taken at any time. medicines.org.uk/emc/produc...
So, that flexibility with atorvastatin may help some of us juggle our high daily pill burden. Hope that is useful info!
