I'm starting to get worried now. Last week I was admitted to hospital after 4 days of chest pain. I underwent several ECGs and a couple of blood tests and the conclusion was that it was not a cardiac event. I'm now on my 8th day of chest pain. Where the pain is seems to vary - upper chest, lower chest, left side, right side, armpit, back, shoulders.
I had an NSTEMI heart attack 15 weeks ago and had a stent fitted. All my other arteries looked fine. The pain is less than half that when I had the heart attack. GTN has little effect.
I'm not sure what to do. I keep being told to call an ambulance if the GTN doesn't relieve it but I'd literally be calling an ambulance every single day. At the moment I feel that if I didn't wake up tomorrow, it would be a good outcome.
Hi, I think you have the answer "I keep being told to call an ambulance if the GTN doesn't relieve it" In these days and times you have to be persistant, log (write down how you feel every morning, afternoon and evening) everything, take your own BP and pulse daily. You need to show them a history of your condition. It takes a lot for them to take people seriously some times and get in front of the right person. True story but I camped out in the drs surgery until I was seen, receptionist said no can do and got very snotty, end of the day afteer all appointments, saw dr and instantly blue light into hospital for valve surgery after 5 weeks trying to stabilise me and three heart attacks.
