Hi Fluffybee,

If my MVA is bad I can get pain travelling down both arms, into my head and down into my belly. Hopefully as you get it under control it won’t happen as much!

👋 hi

Hope you had a good day yesterday 😃

I do seem to have pain mainly down my right arm when I have chest pain.

I always thought it was left that’s why I was confused.

Thanks for reply

It is confusing as symptoms can be different day to day!! I can get “burning” chest, intense central pain, tight and heavy chest, breathlessness, dull persistent ache, pain in arms, head and belly, “weird” sensations and exhaustion....sigh!

I’m having blood tests today to check my heart I think I mentioned it to you.....

Fingers crossed all ok.

Definitely a very confusing random range of symptoms isn’t there?

in reply toFluffybee

Yes, can be scary as you often gave a nagging doubt “is this MVA or something new?”...hope your blood tests come back ok...good luck!

Yes I get pains down both right and left arms at times. From my arm pit down to my wrists/hands. When I spoke to my heart failure nurse she said they sound like nerve pains and not related to my heart.

Mine also goes down to my wrists and hand, I thought it would be heart related, must be wrong, what do you think ?

Speak to your nurse just in case but mine didnt seem in the least concerned even though I mentioned it several times as I was worried it was linked to my heart failure. I also mentioned it, not so forcefully but as part of going through general symptoms, to both my Cardiologist and rheumatologist, neither picked up on it. For me it comes on occasionally and when it does I get it several times a day, then it will go away again for a while.

I haven’t got a nurse, I’ll mention it to my cardiologist when I ever get an appointment !!!

Hi GracieOS

I spoke to the BHF nurse about pain in the right arm after messaging on here about it.

She said if I have pain going down my right arm at the same time as chest pain/ache etc then it is heart related.

Thought it had to be, to much of a coincidence to happen each time, left arm as well.

For several months before I had the diagnosis I thought my top had twisted around my underarm and become tight causing the uncomfortable feeling down my arm into my hand. All the odd symptoms I’ve had previously add up and make sense now it’s all pieced together and have a diagnosis,

Hope you’re ok ?

That is worth knowing. Mine doesn't tend to come with chest pain. Maybe thats the difference? I haven't had it for a while but if I do again I'll keep note.

To anyone listening and Fluffybee. One thing that I get fairly frequently is a kind of electric bolt in the chest which transcends down one or both arms - lasting only a few seconds. I have experienced this now for some years and although it is fleeting, it is still unresolved. Does anyone on here get a similar type of symptom.

Hi Smileyian

Have you been to see a cardiologist for anything related to this at all ?

My symptoms are more of an ache across my chest and across the back of my shoulders and arms. Sometimes my jaw but not as often.

I hope someone can help and advise you on this, you must be worried, just a thought.... as it’s gone on for so long and not got any worse it may put your mind at rest but think it would be worth seeing your GP if you haven’t yet.

Best of luck

Will mention it at my next Cardio apptmt. It could possibly be a nerve issue ie vagus nerve which has a heart association. It is momentary like a lightening bolt and then is quickly gone. I do hope you are assisted with your medical issues. My very best wishes.
