Hello and welcome to the forum! There are a lot of medications for angina such as nitrates, beta blockers and CCIs ( calcium channel inhibitors). What ones are you on?

Hello.I am on Bisoprolol 2.5 Mg twice a day. Monomil 60mg . Nicorandil 20mg twice a day. Apixaban 5mg Twice a day I also take Perindopril 8mg . Indapamide 1.5mg. Atorvastatin 20mg & Omeprozole. I think that’s it. But when I go for a walk I just get more & more out of breath & tightness. I would have said I was quite fit before this.

Many thanks

That's quite a few. I think you need a medication review with your GP. My suspicion would be the Bisoprolol but do not stop taking it without medical advice.

Hi there . I'm curiou about your angina . I had to have 2 stents after being told I had angina . Never got out of breath but uncomfortable ache in left arm and middle chest and back for 8 weeks on walking for after a few minutes . Failed ecg treadmill and rushed to cc unit . How long do

People have to have angina before intervention . You seem to be on lots of meds ? Have you had an angiogram ?

Yes I did some time ago but I just feel I’m being give tablets without testing me again. I moved house 3 years last Feb so different doctors,.. I think a treadmill may be a better idea but it’s never been suggested. I had my Medication altered just before Christmas & the then shortly afterward put on Monomil 60mg.

Hello again. I was getting worse. Could not go up stairs. then pain started . Was referred after 1st visit to gp .waited 3 weeks ( should have been a week ) to cardiac outpatients. Then taken to ICU as said . Stents in LAD 2 days later . Been v well since .

Difficult just now I know but think you should be seen . Not to panic you of course as sure your meds are helping but you are having symptoms. Take care ..x

Thank you very much I just feel I’m getting worse. I will go back to doctors & see if they can get it sorted.

Hi, my stamina along with shortness of breath and chest tightness went down hill after I started Apixaban 5 mg twice a day. I told my cardiologist my symptoms, his reply was that I would get used to it, until I came close to dieing and a different cardiologist stepped in and took me off it and put me on Xarelto, I was back to my prior health before the Apixaban. Be careful and check out other forums with people having the same symptoms, you may have a reaction to that same drug?

I keep joking saying I was better before all these meds but you just think they know what they are doing. I just don’t have any energy they will just say it’s age & it isn’t. I would have said I was very fit for my age. I was very fortunate physically. Thank you for your help. I’ll see a doctor when I can. 😜

Hi Mary,

While you're waiting to speak to a Doctor, I found good information on Web-md about side effects of Apixaban and or reactions to it, mainly what other peoples symptoms were.

I could walk 2 miles a day 1 month after triple bypass surgery, Until they put me on Apixaban, slowly it got where I couldn't walk an 1/8 of a mile.

It was frustrating to go backwards and feel worse, but now I'm on Xarelto and able to walk close to 2 miles again.

I wish you the best of luck, I hope this was possibly helpful.

Hi Dusty. Thank you very much I will certainly bring it up when I see the doctor. diplomatically 😜. I just get out of breath in no time & this tightness in my chest. I wouldn’t call it a pain.
