Lurganspur, most of these meds have a gastro side effect,it took my body months to accept them all.my gp ditched my lanzaproctole too panzaproctole .I've had my icd 5 years now still suffer with stomach, now and then just take a anti acid.if I'm right the atoravastatin is the worst one ,with being a statin.just browse through side effects of your meds you will see most cause upset stomach, nausea etc.
Hi golfgod. Yea had a browse thru meds’ side effects & they all listed stomach problems, it’s more of a nuisance than anything else as the feeling lasts just a few seconds & I’m fine after, no loss of appetite or anything like that so will give it another week or so to see if it settles down then might just make an appointment with GP thanks a lot for your reply
Hi
I'm on the same drugs (aside from the clinical trials) with an ICD and initially had a similar reaction, my GP prescribed ranitidine which helped, when all the fuss about ranitidine being a carcinogenic kicked off I dropped ranitidine as the reactions had significantly reduced and since then all ok. In summary it seems that most heart drugs seem to have stomach side effects as per golfgod's comments but in my case they definitely moderated with time. Hopefully you will see the same outcome.
As an aside, I was recently put on Entresto which had no stomach side effects for me.
Hi. I'm on the same meds as yourself + Ramipril - have Stage 2 heart failure following 2 M.I.s 8 years ago & subsequent triple bypass. Anyway, just wanted to say that both former diuretic & Spironolactone seem to have triggered my IBS symptoms. With the Frusemide it was immediate but with the Spironolactone, it was more an insidious effect. My consultant acknowledged this could be the case & says he has 1 more diuretic to try when he can see me in person again to monitor same. Meantime, I've halved the dose & symptoms not quite as bad.
Hi
Thank you for your reply, yes I’m starting to think it’s def one of my meds I haven’t been to docs yet as I find it hard to describe symptoms over the phone , it’s weird because I feel fine before & after it happens & it hasn’t affected my appetite but I’m sure I will see gp soon as it gets to the point where it’s just a nuisance
Thanks again
Hi, Ive taken 25mg Spironolactone for nearly a year and find it ok. I used to take soluble aspirin, but it made me feel much worse and gave me terrible indigestion type pain, so I spoke to my cardiologist and stopped it. I also take bisoporol 2.5mg and 8mg candesartan.
I have dilated cardiomyopathy. Blood pressure now considerably lower. I do get a bit "windy" tho, but just thought it must be my age lol!!
your welcome!! Take care and stay safe.x
