Hi . I’m just a bit puzzled .

Went for a Mri yesterday well 2 ! Found out another was booked for the afternoon

Drove back went to pick my hubby & woof up

But nipped into 1 shop - Started like a gasps feeling top of my tummy then I felt like no air got to the car took my inhaler .

Got home But pulse was 179 . Sat down in. Home had bottle water

But my pulse was still 150 odd after half hour But my bp was quite low for me . 86/74 . Yet pulse was 148/151 . .

I’m on ramipril had hypertension for a good while .

But took it over next hour still bit weird - It eventually went bk to normal after 90 mins !! . Have had a similar feeling last year was walking with my dog casually pottering when out of no where couldn’t breathe like been winded top tummy

I managed to walk after ten mins went off . Pulse had gone 180 stopped high . Then Bcus had Apple Watch on seen it had dropped to normal felt ok . Had a couple years ago pulse sky high . But bp was mega high as well .

Just wondered if anyone had similar

I’m on Metformin . Twice a day. Inhaler . Ramipril .. came off Clopidogrel over year ago . ( My Dad had troubles heart .

He had cardiac Arrest . .

Im going too pop Drs tomorrow just see if can get a slot ..

Many Thanks Beverley ..

Sometimes when blood pressure drops like this and the heart races, it's because of not drinking enough water. Could that have been the case with you?

Could have been this time . Because was in the mri scan an hour . Just worried that it happened before when walking. Yet had drank then 🤔

I’ve had colonoscopy before Xmas - my pulse then through the movicol dropped 42 / 44 for an hour . So could be too do with fluid intake

I Drink through the night take 500 ml up with me .

Due to last year had my bp going sky high in the night But fine in the day ( non dipping )

Changed ramipril to evening . Tried different Calcium Antagonist tablets. But ! My body doesn’t cope well with them .

So I drink now quite a lot .

But yesterday morning had 1 cup tea . And half glass water for 3 hours ..

For some reason I was worried Svt ..

my Auntie has - Dad had troubles .

So Thanks for replying 🌸

Hello, I would suggest with a heart rate that fast that does not not settle at rest you should get checked out at that time. Usually an ECG.

When you feelLike this and your heart races, please call an ambulance or ask someone to take you to A&E for a tracing (ecg)

It is very likely that you’re experiencing Arrythmias.

There are 2 main types of Arrythmias: atrial which is bothering but not life threatening and ventricular which is life threatening.

Please get to the bottom of it.

If they are regular also speak to your gp and they can refer you to a cardiologist and order an Holter which will record your heart activity for 24/72 hours.

This will help the cardiologist to find out what type of Arrythmias you’re getting and make a plan of action in order to control them.

But please don’t ignore this!!!

All the best

Hi Letsallhope1 just read your reply to GSHEP please can you tell me about ventricular Arrythmia being life threatening!! I’ve been diagnosed with left ventricular ectopic beats and haven’t been told they are dangerous or life threatening now reading this I’m feeling anxious! Please can you clarify this for me Thankyou

Hi Best2 I really wished I had gone to A&E

It was with someone I know saying could be stress after Mri . Well had 2 sat morning straight after one another .

But ! Then I thought had last year. Ian’s then I was going a nice relaxing walk along by the river with my dog . And exactly same thing . From no where - lije no air . Can’t explain . It was as though I’d been winded . Pulse was up around d 180 it registered on my Apple Watch . But then 15 - 20 mins after it calmed . . But this time I made of point as soon as I got in home I took my bp 3 consecutive times . Then half hour later . Then further 25 minutes . By then it was heading towards normal . After 2 hours .110/70 . Pulse 90 . That was sitting resting for that long sipping water .

Then all of a sudden once my bp & pulse went bk felt ok . .

My Dad had heart problems . But had a cardiac arrest 3 years ago

Dr has just this minute rang and said go and get blood tests & Ecg . Because how long it lasted -and still have uncomfortable feeling top of tummy . Just too be on the safe side .

So I’m off now .

Just wished I’d have gone when had the symptoms Regards Beverley .

It needs investigating. It sounds very much like a panic attack but I'm no doctor. If it happens again do phone for an ambulance

Hiya . I’m now back after 3 hours Hospital .. The Dr was saying Svt unless you catch it on ecg . - someone came in last week same symptoms . Showed up . But within 2 hours fine . SVT

He also thinks it could well be too do with my pancreas / Colon . Troubles .Bcus I said it gets me top of tummy . Still bit tender . But dr had said Heart troubles can come from the top stomach . He has Advised me get In touch with

Ipns nurses .. . I did say I have a letter from last Aug saying that cyst they found on my pancreas Year before . ( it says another scan mri . And will be referred too the Ipns nurses for surveillance . So it may be problem with that . But ! Any such troubles again get straight A& E . .

So just plod along keep eye out . .

😊

IT could be but I would still push to get perhaps a week long holter monitor to try to catch it happening. It's so difficult when things are intermittent. It's like an occasional fault in a car. You can guarantee when you get to the garage it won't do it.

I’ve got a Telephone slot next Tuesday morning - So I’ll see what she says .. Qualipop I did have a 5 day monitor last year - due to out breath a lot & my bp was going sky high in the night .

( non dipping ) fine in the day .

But I will ask her too put me forward again for another monitor

I did have Angiogram 3 years ago that was fine ..

But things Happen with the body

& change .

Thanks For Reply 😊

One day they will catch it happening but also ring 999 next time it happens. There's more chance of paramedics catching any changes.

Will do .. ( just bit scary . My Dad had troubles from early 40’s Pulmonary hypertension . And cardiomyopathy . Couple other things ..

But ! He collapsed died Good Friday morning - 3 years this year 73 …

So that scared me . . My Mum was with him But has vascular Dementia . Best of it is the paramedics took him too hospital baud his pacemaker was still working . ( thinking got a pulse . He’d had it checked 6 weeks previous . .

Anyway Thanks for replying . I’m hopefully zzz now 😊

I too have family history. Granddad was youngest of 13 children; he was the only one to live past 50. Mum, like me had toxaemia when pregnant which damaged her heart. She had heart failure ( lucky I didn't) but she died at 69 after 3 heart attacks. GP never once asked about family history. It was only a lovely newly qualified doctor at the hospital ( I rang 111) connected my breathlessness with heart and set the ball rolling.- too late as it happened. I had a heart attack soon after. My GP had said it was just muscular. Even then although the paramedics said heart attack, the nurses at hospital didn't believe them because i wasn't typical grey, sweating and clutching my chest. Good paramedics are a Godsend.

Awful Family History can be so helpful . I know Dads side . Heart . Problems . His uncle died 34 . .

But ! My Mums side heart problems as well .

Will definitely be wary & Thankyou for your. Input 😊🌸

Sorry to hear what you are going through. I can relate to how you feel, because I've been in a similar situation and I'm glad you have an appointment for next Tuesday morning .... tomorrow?

Without going on about 'me', because it's not - I wonder if you have considered buying your own hand held ECG machine. My story goes back to 2011 and having had a heart attack/dilated cardiomyopathy/arrhythmias, etc, I eventually bought a Prince 180B (one line Pharmacy in Leeds and the pharmacist there is brilliant for advice). No one was listening to me and even though I had these 72 hr monitors, what was happening didn't show up during that period. It wasn't until I did that, that they took note. I'm not sure if they were VT or SVT, but cutting a long story short about myself, I now have a pacemaker and defibrillator. I don't know what happened around an hour ago, but my heart was thumping like a lunatic and I downloaded the data. I did use my machine, but have no idea what it meant.

I feel for you, because it is horrid and frightening. If I did not use my Prince 180B (Medtronic said I still can), I would be in the dark. It seems to me that you are a bit like myself and want/need to know and this will help you if you decide to go ahead.

You download the disk, download your recordings and can print them off for your doctor/cardiologist.

Good luck tomorrow (?)

Kind Regards

Denise

Thank you Denise2011 My appointment is week today - But I will have a look into the ecg monitor

.

It is a worry because out of nowhere it just comes on ..

My Alle watch always shows up high pulse / low .

Like when I had colonoscopy before Christmas - it showed 5 low heart rates over an hour - due to movicol prep . ( rash . Dr said reaction so I know they not 10% reliable still feel more calmer wearing .. .

Will reply when o find out any more .

But like you say it’s hard getting the event ! .

Thanks for reply 🌸
