Coronavirus and pacemakers

My sister has been asked to go back to work delivering flowers. She is currently under furlough. She has a pacemaker for irregular heart beats. Should she contact her doctor for advice on going back to work first?

I would give the surgery a call and make sure that it is ok. I would also make sure that the florists that she is working for has the facilities for her to work at a social distance.

I agree; check with GP but as long as she can distance from other workers and the vehicle is only used by her, , delivering to the doorstep is pretty safe

Then I really don't see a problem but I'm not medically trained! I am lucky that I can work from home but I don't really want to go back to work because I am in the vulnerable group having just had my third heart valve replacement in 2 years.

I have a pacemaker and work for the NHS, so have been working as normal. I have spent a lot of time trying to find out if having a pacemaker is classed as high risk, but can't find any evidence that says so.

I think your sister will be OK as long as she follows the social distancing rules. Your GP should be able to help.
