Need advice please . Dr had upped my 25mg dose of losartan to 50 mg as blood pressure a bit too high. Started taken 2 25mg together but have felt not well since I’m as much as my anxiety has returned, I just don’t feel right horrible feeling. Can I separate the dose and have morning and night ? Can’t now speak to dr until Monday but feel rough . Thanks

I would call your chemist, or even 111 for advice.

Thank you I have rung pharmacist and she said to split the dose as a sudden change like doubling the dose can have an effect on the body and take a while to adjust so that’s why I have been feeling so ill. Thanks

Chemist is often my 1st port of call, they know the drugs far better than GP :)

Hope your feeling better soon.

Yes, agree. Definitely pharmacist first choice every time when it comes to meds.

Yes, Calm, I started off on 25mg as well, then doubled to 50mg split morning and night. Then some months later a cardiologist moved it to a single dose in the mornings to try and improve the BP readings. It didn’t but that’s another story!😉

To get to 50 grammes of losartan you would need to take 20 000 2.5 mg pills. Not good advice I'm afraid.

Thank you for the heads up on my senior moment there, Palpman - I have now edited it. Perhaps the lockdown is further diminishing those little grey cells.
