Recently Diagnosed with Angina, CAD of the LAD. Reading up on this states chest aching/discomfort should go on taking aspirin and GTN but I have constant aching and discomfort in my chest - is this normal symptoms or unstable angina?
Also woke up in the middle of the night feeling unwell, went to bathroom and broke out in a cold sweat, dizzy, nauseaous and breathless, nearly fainted but made it back to bed and when lying down felt better. Is this an angina attack? Should I have gone to hospital? I'm not sure when I should go to hospital or when I should get help or if this is normal symptoms.

Hi Mac_suki. When did the constant aching start? Did you go to the Docs and then have that diagnosed as angina? Or is it a new thing? And does it go away when you use your GTN? What other meds are you on?
Here’s some info from the BHF about how to use your GTN and when you need to call 999. Why not give the BHF nurses a call on 0300 330 331.
Thanks NorthantsSteve, aching started on/off a while back but been constant now for a good few weeks now. Been diagnosed with Angina and had angiogram.
If the aching turns to pain then GTN reduces back to an ache. I was put on 5 meds at time of diagnoses in Jan but had to come off everything accept aspirin and GTN as side affects knocked me off my feet. Doc now just trying low does of blood pressure med. Just called BHF nurse - thanks for advice on that.
Great you spoke to a nurse. Sounds like this needs monitoring to me. Not least because it will be making you anxious (well it would make me anxious anyway).
I am not a Dr but re your cold sweat/dizziness/nausea episode : suggest that you look up syncope also suggest that you see your GP sooner rather than later.
From my experience the pain you mentioned in the first paragraph is unstable angina. The 2nd paragraph is more worrying and I'd suggest you get thst checked out. Good luck.
