Certain Police Officers have been issued with PPE in case they have to go to a House where someone has died of Suspected Corvid 19, and carry out an Investigation
Sometimes forget they are Frontline as well as others.

My daughter had to break into a flat where someone had died night before last, she didn't have any of the protective gear 🙁
Yesterday my son (police) was first on scene to attend someone who had cut their throat, no time to don ppe except gloves.
It is a worry, they have to deal with so many dangerous situations and now this as well plus all the usual abuse.
I will never understand why they get so much abuse.
Hi Maisie
My son often says Good it's Raining when my wife asked Why do you like the Rain ? answer was
" Because it keeps the Dicks at Home "
Excuse the Language

Ambiguity over the boundary between law and .gov guidance creates risks.
There is a risk that the police, if they do not properly understand the boundary, act beyond.
The watchword of UK law enforcement is ‘policing by consent’. This means, above all, that the police try to get people to comply with the law through explanation and encouragement, rather than force, and recognise that they need to keep the public’s respect and approval for this to work. If public respect falters, that consent is harder to achieve.
There will always be a need for good cop bad cop but never the little Hitler's. 🙄
Respect. 🤔
I have never understood why our police force takes so much abuse but the I guess that it's down to a lack of respect. I would never contemplate back chatting or being abusive to the police; in fact I usually feel instantly guilty if ever approached!
I was also astounded at the amount of abuse the fire and ambulance service get too.
Hopefully this will all change now that we have seen the sterling work that all of our emergency services do.
I take your point Koassilator but there is still NO reason to spit at the police or abuse them in any way whatsoever.
It's the way they are brought up.If there is no respect in the home and the parents have no respect for authority what else can we expect.I believe the police should have more power.
The T V has quite a lot to answer for, they show Feral Youngsters putting one finger up to the Police as though it's an acceptable form of abuse.
In fact they often portray abuse of the Emergency Services as the Normal, rather than the Anti Social Behaviour that it is !!
I know another thing that annoys the Police it's Lawyers who have convinced their clients to plead Not Guilty right up until the Court case when it is changed to guilty.
