ended up in hospital overnight.. chest.. arm and shoulder pain.. home today.. feeling much better.. troponin of 10.. didn’t change after 2nd tropinin.. but what i did find out from two docs much to my surprise.. my Cardiologist has referred me to the Golden Jubilee hospital in Clydebank for an angiogram.... this seemingly was arranged by letter in August..i previously had a CT angio in April.. but Cardiologist called me early August to tell me he and another Cardiologist were reviewing the results in case something had been missed.. result at the time was mild/moderate ‘furring’ of LAD.. but it seems now that the CT wasn’t clear and so i now have to go for full blown angio to Golden Jubilee.. just wish i had been told earlier lolol.. i called the Jubilee and appt is 18weeks from

August.. so hopefully January

Angiogram at the Golden Jubilee, WOW - you've struck Gold:) That hospital is considered the premier hospital for heart work here in Scotland. I admit it, I have total angio-envy! I'm at the very back backest of the queue for the angio with acetylcholine provocation there (owing to my presumed MVA being well controlled with the meds), is your angio for that or the 'standard' angiogram?

I did have a standard angio and right heart study (angio through the wrist, right heart through the groin) at Ninewells a year ago - my best tip for you is to watch the BHF video:

bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo...

Also, avoid coffee or tea (or any other beverage that will make you want to use the convenience) the morning of and while you're waiting for the ride down to the cath lab - trust me, the last thing you want is to need the facilities during or right after the procedure.

And the biggie - tell them you want all the 'anxiety relief' they can squirt up the IV! I did and the fog didn't lift for three days - by which time my rather sore wrist and upper thigh had stopped aching so badly.

Keep us updated. My 'standard' angiogram had the same note about stents, with the added bonus of 'immediate urgent bypass' lobbed on. I didn't need either and the consensus is microvascular angina owing to my 'crystal clear coronaries' (their words, which made my day, I wasn't looking forward to stents or bypass).

Pauline said it best - Golden Jubilee is a great hospital with amazing staff, you'll be in very good hands no matter what they do or don't find on the angio.

when chest all began a couple of years ago Cardiologist assumed MVA.. but after the CT angio and discovery of plaque in LAD.. that’s now been diagnosed as ‘angina’ and ischaemic heart disease.. don’t know what if anything else the angiogram will find
