At last...

What a to do!... I have had nothing but problems with side effects from the medication after my HA in January...problems with mobility, breathlessness, cold hand and feet.. tiredness.. to name a few.

I’m sure you have all probably had some if not all of these yourselves.

Some side effects did subside over time, others didn’t.. then, numerous changes of tablets etc.. 3 weeks ago they then put me on ramipril, because my BP was up,which caused a horrendous cough! So they then changed that to candesartan, which I had been on a week.. blood pressure has been around 137/93 all week and I came out with big red lumps over my body! Was absolutely fed up so I contacted the GP yet again to say that’s it. I’m stopping them all together. She advised me to stop them and up my bisoprolol to 5mg and guess what.. after 2 days my BP is 127/75... I no it’s only 2 days but I woke this morning with no head ache and feeling much better in myself.

I am so chuffed ( even though I no it’s early days yet ) that I just wanted to share this with people who will understand

Thank you for reading my long post 😁

I bet you are so relieved. Side effects are the pits as if the original illness isn't enough to cope with.

Great. But just one thought...are you sure you haven’t given up any really important preventive ones. EG Clopidogrel?

Now that you’ve stopped getting the ghastly side effects, perhaps its time for a quiet discussion with your GP about whether they’d now really like you on anything else and why,

Sorry Kristin, I didn’t explain myself properly it was only the candesartan that I stopped. I’m still taking all my others, I was so excited to see a better result from my BP 😊

Well this sounds good. People ask me what was the bypass pain like. I can’t remember . I do remember 2 months of the worst stomach upset I have ever had. At my 6 month check up I was taken off all medication apart from aspirin. I could not believe the difference. I was really very depressed because I thought that would be my life forever. I didn’t need blood pressure pills but the rest were really horrendous
