Last Thurs, I ended up in A&E with a repeat of the pain that I suffered last mnth in all the same places, but this time they wanted me to see the heart doctor

The usual thing on the 1st ward was said, not heart related & go home yesterday, but then the heart doctor saw me & decided to admit me for proper to to do the scans that were said in the phone appointment I had instead of the face to face on the 30th

He thought different & is strongly thinking that it's unstable angina, both this time & the time before

I'm glad the cardiologist admitted you and wants a proper investigation - what tests have they put you through so far?

Had the Echo scan today which was to see if the valves in my heart were still like before, only slightly worse. Got a CT scan tomorrow with dye to check out my heart function & other stuff

Have been on Beta Blockers to slow down my heart rate which has got rid of the pain as well, possibly gonna be on them when I leave, but my blood pressure keeps dropping & my temperature can slightly rise & go back down, they're not sure if they're linked to the tablets or not

I take Bisoprolol 1.25mg - also to slow my heart and stops the angina in its tracks. And I have to be very careful to check my BP regularly owing to the way it can drop. No fever, though.

So, your valves are slightly worse than before, and you're having the contrast CT tomorrow. I'm so glad you're finally being looked after properly, no more fobbing you off!

But...how's the food? Can your husband come in to visit?

The food was very nice & there's a no visitor policy @ the hospital due to the virus, I'm back home now as the CT scan was normal, so Cardiology have gone back to their old ways of not listening

However the ward doctor came up with an interesting theory of Fibromyalgia & is reffering me to the Rheumatology depth after a really good & long chat about things, after I thought he weren't gonna listen either & go along with the other wards idea of oseaghughus pain, but he did however give me Gastro tablets & I know that they won't work as I've been on 3 lots over the past yr & they ain't done nothing for me!

But my husband, my family & I still think that there might be a touch of angina there somewhere that wasn't found

It must be gut-wrenching to not have answers after spending days in hospital, and I'm assuming Cardio sent you home without a renewed GTN prescription - am I correct?

in reply to Sunnie2day

Yes & No, but there's hope as I've been reffered to this new dept for this condition & it could explain alot. I was given the bottle they gave me on the ward & another bottle, but it says on my discharge papers 14 days, but yes to repeat, so not sure, spoke to a guy who deals with prescriptions & hopefully I won't have to worry about it for a couple of yrs

Good to hear at least they recognise you have angina and need that GTN, that's actually beyond good and into great territory.

Hang in there until the Rheumatology appointment, and be sure to keep us updated!

I will do with all things. Should it turn out to be Fibromyalgia, then alot of things will be explained & I can like with the other diagnoses move forwards. We all think that there is a touch of that as well, but Cardiology have told me not much about any of my scans or heart monitor that I did last mnth
