Three weeks post triple bypass. First week was ok. But had two weeks of awful dizziness. This has put me back as I’m so unsteady. Could it be anaesthetic related?

Have you got a phone number for Cardio Rehab Team. I think you need to discuss this with a professional. Failing that ring GP. I know medical services are stretched beyond anything previously seen however remember GP practices are still available for non covid urgent matters such as yours. It may be BP related. Do you know your current BP? Maybe your medication needs adjusting or have you been prescribed any new meds that you are perhaps still getting used to. Until you can be checked be very wary of the risk of falling. Avoid standing up quickly after sitting or lying down as maybe your BP is dropping on standing. Sounds like you have done really well only 3 wks post op. Also you can discuss with BHF Nurse by calling 0300 330 3311 they are specialist nurses - in first instance think I would try that. Persist and don't be put off if lines are busy .

Thank you. I’ve seen doc. Stopped beta blockers. Blood pressure was rubbish. Feel a bit lost as I’m struggling to get appointments but I totally understand. Cardiac rehab cancelled. Don’t know if I’ll be having my six week check either .even struggled to get my stitches out . Staples were pulling dreadfully. Anyway it’s done. Should have been triple but my veins were dreadful so just did two. Got to have a stent in the third .

Stitches out? Staples? I had triple bypass and triple artery graft did not have external stitches or staples. Very surprised doctor stopped beta blockers this early but need to trust them. I agree it sounds like a blood pressure problem

Pleased you made some progress but the uncertainty over appointments is a stress you could do without. Rather than get hyped up make dates in your diary to chase up appointments and don't let anyone say something can't be done. Pity about the stent but it's nothing compared with what you have had done.

Hi Marvin

I had dizziness too initially but it settled after got use to new medications. I'm post 7 weeks and feeling bit lost . Dont be surprised if follow up done by phone as my consultant told me for now they were all being conducted by phone. It was ok but would have liked to be "seen"

As things such as scar could have been checked and the xray done.

Cardio rehab cancelled also and ecg for now. I do get a weekly phone call from local team to check how I'm doing.

The stitch removal was uncomfortable as due to lack of staff by time got apt some skin had started to grow over. But that's done !

Have a good recovery take it slowly.

I feel the same. Had a struggle to get stitches out. Feel like I’m floating about !!!! But I’ve been out walking on the flat. My sternum is still very sore, but better. No rehab or follow up appointment and I’ve still got to have a stent in . Anyway onwards and upwards. Good luck !!!!
