Good NHS Appointment Time

Hello

Just a little praise for the NHS .

I saw my Heart Nurse on the 5th March and she said I needed an up to date Echo after a year on Entresto

Appointment came to day for the 26th March so only 3 weeks from appointment to Echo good service.

Thanks Heart Failure Clinic

Better still received an appointment today for Cardiologist on 30th March to review results of Echocardiogram Either I am more Sick than I thought and they need to hurry things up or they are very efficient.

That's seriously good service. To be honest if you were going private you'd probably struggle to beat that for a quick response. Well done NHS.

There are times when the NHS excels like in your instance.

I started getting pains in the left temple going down to the jaw and having problems chewing:

Day1: contacted the surgery, GP appointment within an hour and blood test 1 hour later (suspected temporal artritis) + prescription for steroids

Day2: results back & clear. Used the Econsult form to ask the GP if I should stop the meds. Submitted at 5:45pm & telephone reply at 6:10pm saying keep taking them & another appointment on Day3.

Day3: GP appointment, 1 hour later a different blood test.

Day5: Phone call from GP at 8:20am saying I have to attend hospital that afternoon even thought he bloods were clear. Consultant does all the checks & phones rheumatologist & appointment arranged for day 7.

Day7: Consultant does scan (also clear) and then says I need biopsy the following week.

Day9: Appointment date comes through.

Day11, 6am (today) sitting typing this waiting for taxi to Royal Bournemouth Hospital!

They couldn't be quicker if they tried.

Oh, by the way, I appear to have the symptoms of temoral artritis without actually having it (Eh?)

Excellent. My husband’s Temporal arteritis was also treated exceptionally promptly (just like yours) by the NHS, including a call from Pathology at 9.0 at night. Wonderful NHS!

RBH is a good place to be going, because if they can't handle it they don't seem to hesitate to move you on to another expert location.

Quite honestly I have never had Medical problems with the NHS it's the Admin that's awful !!IMHO

Hope you don't mind this reply. Last month my doctor took me off Lozartan and me put on Entresto, I was wondering if you have had any side effects after taking it a year? Have you seen any improvement in your condition? Last week when I saw the cardiac nurse my blood pressure was lower than usual so I have to keep a check on that.

Hello

I got to the mid dose of Entresto 49/51mg but my Heart Nurse will not increase to Maximum dose which is 97/103mg due to my current ECG readings. It looks like for me I have maxed out on Medication and now looking at a CRT device. From what I can gather Entresto will not sort out the problem I have with my Heart Failure !! I know from another web site I use " Pumping Marvellous " that Entresto has provided some seriously good results for some H F patients.

I must stress I have had bypass surgery and stents so not just a straight forward case of HF. I did go for around 30 years without Medication for a Heart Attack I had when I was 32 years old !! Consultant told me that's when damage probably occurred, but didn't have the imaging then that they have now !!

I didn't have any side effects from the Entresto and I am still taking the 49/51mg dose twice daily whilst waiting for the next move.

Regards

Thanks for your post on Entresto, I've just started on this medication so interesting to know what monitoring is undertaken going forward.

Efficient I would say. ☺️
