I am about to take part in the above clinical trial( I hope to be found innocent!). However, my travel insurance company won't cover me whilst I am on it. Is anybody else out there on the same trial and has come across the same problem? How did you overcome it? Are there any friendly insurers you use?

Hello and welcome to the forum! Besides heart issues I have an interest in diabetes being a lifelong Type I. For background for others reading this thread Semaglutide is a drug that is injected weekly to stimulate insulin production and help weight loss in overweight/obese Type II diabetics.
Initial trials have been very encouraging and it has gained FDA approval. Therefore I am somewhat puzzled by your insurers attitude. The only suggestion is to try other insurers. It may be worth contacting the people running the trial as they may have additional information you can pass to potential insurers. You need to ring them as online will not cope with your current situation.
I’ve been on this trial for a little over 6 months now, I would recommend to anyone given the opportunity to take part in this trial to jump at the chance , for me the benefit of the excellent support and monthly hospital check-ups has been a fantastic re-assurance while in recovery from an MI and 2x stents about a year ago now .
I’m sure if you contact the absolutely fantastic cardiac research nurses they may well be able to help you overcome this problem.
@trueblue49 please check @Gearboxxx reply to me..
You may be able to get further advice on the Diabetes UK as I would image more people there are involved in the trial.
